While Dixon, Austin and I were discussing zombies and the various products included in the zombified market, a question popped into my head as to how far the marketing and products have gone. I was especially curious as to how far the zombie trend had spread out after reading the Herman article, "Gun Owners Are Obsessed With Zombies". So, for my own curiosity, and for the entertainment of my classmates, I decided to look up a few different products. Tell me, has anything else (werewolves, vampires, ghosts), gotten this popular marketing wise? I researched vampire products, and there wasn't nearly as much as an overwhelming conglomeration of results for products. I'm curious as to what the next big horror "thing" will be!
So:
First we have the top seller, $130 "Never Sleep Alone" duvet and sleep set. Sweet Dreams I guess?
Then we have: Three ounces of hand-crafted vegan soap $5.75 handmade by Denise Mancuso via Etsy. (I guess you could do vampires or zombies for this gift?)
High quality, hand painted Zombie Garden Gnomes! Ranging from $50-60 bucks.
There's even an entire site dedicated to quacking dead zombie ducks.

BUT IT DOESN'T STOP THERE!
Here are some really unappetizing zombie food options!
Last but not least, my favorite item on nearly every single one of the zombie-survival guide essentials sites:
LifeStraw water filter
A portable filter that allowsto drink any type of water. This product is just plain, darn, neat.
What do you guys think? Any other products that you guys have seen for zombie survival?
I love clever marketing ideas like this, though a part of me questions why people would want to eat/drink zombie themed stuff...ick.
ReplyDeleteI have purchased a zombie gnome or two for my siblings. And I kind of want the duck. But that ear/tongue stuff is too much. Ugh!
