Zombies are Hopeless

Ok so this whole semester has been a struggle for me and a fight for me not to just give up on classes. I feel like it is hopeless for me to get my needed grades to pass this semester. As I started to think about giving up, I pondered the idea if a zombie is just someone who gave up any hope of life. This theory might actually be a possibility. Looking at scenes from The Walking Dead where some of the zombies were humans who committed suicide. In the first episode of season 2, the group comes across a campground with zombies in a tent. Both zombies have gunshot wounds from before they became zombies and Daryl comes to the conclusion that the now dead walkers attempted to kill each other in hopes of escaping the zombie outbreak. With that, I believe the two zombies in the tent gave a hope for a future thus making themselves zombies. Also, I can use the Bonies from Warm Bodies. The Bonies are one of the two sub-groups of zombies it the film. They are basically walking skeletons, hence the name Bonies. They give up hope for a cure, hope that they will be human once again. Bonies gave up hope for life which  made it impossible for them to ever become human again. If they didn't give up hope, they would not have stayed zombies.

What your thoughts on this theory? If you were in the zombie apocalypse, would you give up?
