Check out this funny and informative piece (from my favorite TV criticism website) about iZombie, which premieres tonight. I'll be watching. If any of you do, I'd be interested in knowing what you think.
So I watched iZombie. I mean how could I not be interested after the copious amount of commercials they show during Buffy marathons (also, dream job would be a medical examiner). I want to start by saying that I did enjoy the pilot and I have the series set for recording on my dvr. However, I was slightly confused by the comic book intros to every scene. I did find out that the show is based off a comic book, and that explained the slightly humorous matter-of-fact tone that was used when the narrator described her changing into a zombie. I wanted more back story as to what happened between her and Major and how the break up went. (Again, maybe its the romantic in me, but 4 or 5 months is not enough time to get over a "Sixteen Candles" engagement and find a new girl.) I loved the dynamic between her and the lead medical examiner, but her relationship with the cop is going to have to grow on me. I'm excited to see how different a non pilot will be and hopeful they don't cancel this show on me. Pretty Little Liars season finale is next week and I need a new show to look forward to.
"So, you are what you eat. I guess that's not just something my mother says about fat people." That was by far my most favorite line. I'm with Meghan on the fact that I didn't understand the comic bit, but figured it was much like The Walking Dead, and there was actual a comic to accompany the show. My prediction is that the focus of the show will be less on zombies, and more on solving crimes. There will be a slow progression to a cure, hiding Liv's secret, slowly falling in love with the detective, then solving big crimes (so the show could continue for a long time). I kind of hope that Liv eats Major's new girlfriend, haha. If you were a zombie and ate people's brains, how awesome would it be to learn a new language every time you had a meal? That would be neat under the circumstances!
