Warm Bodies was a lot better than I thought it was going to
be. It has lots of cheesy 80’s music at perfectly timed moments, and gets its
point across without being too graphic. There is nothing wrong with graphic
movies, but sometimes it’ just nice to see a film where the message was more
important than the box office rating and the director and actors didn’t fear
being outside of the normal zombie film ideals. I was expecting to see pretty
much a zombified Romeo and Juliet,
but other than their names and some of the details, the story is nothing like Romeo and Juliet. I also think it’s fascinating that most people
want to believe it is just a love story, but I think there is more.
What about your movies? Were you expecting something
different from your film? Were you surprised at some of the ideas that people
took away from the movie? Were you disappointed in your movie? Are there any
major things you would’ve changed if you had directed the film yourself?
I normally avoid zombie movies because they seem so similar. My movie, World War Z, was an alright movie. The two parts that really got to me were: 1. When the zombie outbreak starts, and everyone is in their cars, the zombies start jumping on the vehicles and smashing their faces on the windshield. I know that it's a movie, and special effects, but it looked so painful! 2. A girls arm gets sliced off to save her from the zombie bite she recieved. I love your questions! I probably would have had more female leads and other main characters in World War Z instead of Brad Pitt just getting saved all the time. I think the reason why I didn't like Warm Bodies so much is because I watched it on Valentine's Day when it came out, and expected much more of gorey love. An odd expectation, but still!
ReplyDeleteI watched World War Z, and I have to say I thought the movie was great. I especially enjoyed the fact that it wasn't so focused on the zombies, but it was more focusd on Gerry Lane and his investigation into what has caused this mass epidemic. It was more on the lines of a mystery movie based in a zombie apocalypse. I also have to admit ,reluctantly, Brad Pitt played an excellent role. He really put a personal touch to Gerry's character I felt as if I was watching my own father stumble through a mystery and I'd like to add thst I think that's a very important touch in any kind of movie, the ability to reach out and touch your audience ,on a personal level, is a talent indeed.

ReplyDeleteI watched the same movie and I quite enjoyed it. I saw the Romeo and Juliet references, but it wasn't overpowering. The scoring for the movie was one of the reasons I enjoyed as much as I did. I believe that a movie will never be the same without music in the background. A video of Star Wars without scoring further proves my opinion.
