First and foremost, this is not a zombie related question! (You're welcome)
I would like to know what everyone's major is, and what your plan is for gaining a job when you're finished with college.
I am studying to become a secondary English education major for grades 5 to adult. I plan on teaching in West Virginia and eventually gaining my masters.
Also, I'm curious as to how everyone else thought they did on their essay?
I am a Spanish major....2nd semester. My husband is a Social Work major and we plan on investing a couple years in South America to do community service. I love other cultures and I find things in everyday life that inspire me, including, English class. I say thank you for all of your words; I leave class cherishing them in their own files to be brought back into perspective in unrelated ways sometimes. My essay, on the other hand, sent me into a tailspin. My feedback sticks with me. I do not feel confused, but might send my reader wanting an answer. I am determined to work on this. Thanks for asking Laura.
ReplyDeleteI am a criminal justice major, I am hoping to move on into the federal law enforcement. However I will stay State or local if they have a good international program. I would love to work with interpol in the South American region. I could write about my experiences when I retire.
ReplyDeleteI am an English education major. I hope after graduation I can also get a certification in Russian and work as a ESL teacher in a former soviet republic. My husband works for the government and we will have to travel overseas and live on embassy compounds and I just hope that we get sent somewhere in Eastern Europe.
ReplyDeleteI may also apply for a job with the government as well.
I am also a Spanish major. I started out studying cosmetology and got an AA degree, but I wasn't satisfied. I've always loved Spanish for some reason, and I like learning about other cultures. My senior year of high school I took Spanish V. I actually thought about studying that first, but things worked out differently. I don't regret studying what I did before, but I knew if and when I went back to school, I was going to study Spanish. It's a good degree to have and I enjoy it. I'm not fluent yet, but hopefully by the time I graduate I will be there. I hope to get some type of government job to help with translating.
ReplyDeleteAs for the essays, I think I did okay, but there are more than a few changes that need to be made. Especially my review. It will require a lot of revisions before it is ready to turn in.
I am an English major. I am not completely sure what I will do with it, but I want to go into performing arts. I absolutely love theatre and dance. My life at the moment is a complete mess, but I always have the stage.
