Night of the Living Dead

Hi guys,
I'm really bored right now and figured what better to do than blog? Well, we've been watching the film "Night of the Living Dead" in class. On Monday, I wasn't really sure what to think of the film. However, now I'm really into it. Honestly, for being a 1960's film I've found that it's quite bloody and gory for being such an old film. We've gotten to the point where the zombies are feasting on the bodies of humans. It's quite gruesome and disgusting. I typically do not watch black and white movies because I find them to be boring sometimes. Much to my surprise, Night of the Living Dead has kept my attention and I'm actually looking forward to class on Friday to see what happens next.
However, for the sake of this blog post I'm just going to go with it and make the ending what I think is going to happen. I think that somehow, they are going to get in touch with someone in the safe zone and get them to send refugee for them. I think they will live.
However, my question for you guys:
What do you think is going to happen?
Do you think they will live?

Love Leah!

  1. Glad you are enjoying the film. I agree that the section we watched on Wednesday really upped the horror/scare factor.

  2. I think the half bald guy (can't remember his name) is going to be left behind at any given chance at this point. However, as the films budget goes, I predict that it will be daylight and everyone will be safe, or everyone will die except perhaps the main two characters. I feel like the girl in the basement may turn out to be zombiefied as well... We'll see!

  3. I've often found that the people who say they don't like black and white movies have little experience with them, and when they finally do see some of the greats they're surprised. I remember when a friend of mine who knew I was planning on majoring in film discovered I'd never seen Citizen Kane. He gave me his DVD copy and insisted I watch it. I dreaded watching it, as I had the same opinion regarding black and white films at the time. Finally I watched it, and it's now amongst my favorite films. If you're looking to watch more black and white classics I also highly recommend the Bela Lugosi version of Dracula and Casablanca.

  4. I agree Austin, saying you do not like black and white films is like saying I hate water. As children we hate water and want SUGAR. People only HATE what they do not understand. This is based off of observance I have done throughout my life.

  5. Now that we have finished it and realized that all the characters died, I find that I was a little upset. Movies now don't end like that (last one I saw where everyone died was Cloverfield). My husband and I watched As Above, So Below the other night and soon as we were introduced to all the characters we predicted in what order they were going to die. We were correct in our predictions down to the couple who were reunited for the trip. It's just weird to me for movies to kill off the character that we just spent over an hour routing for.
