Intro to Zombies

            Well...it certainly has been a while since I have typed up a blog post. I’ve never really done it of my own choice, only in classes in which it was required back in high school. I don’t know why I haven’t. I really enjoy blogging. It’s a way of getting my writing and opinions out there, and who knows, maybe someone will actually read them.

            Zombies are something I know little to nothing about. I’m not sure I’ve ever even watched a zombie movie that wasn’t a satire (Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland, etc). That’s not to say I have anything against zombies. I think it’s a fun topic, just not one I’m well versed in. So for me, this class is an opportunity to learn more about something I’m interested in, but have never explored much on my own.

             There is one element of the zombie phenomenon that fascinates me, and that is the behind the scenes aspect. As someone who’s been involved in theatre since the third grade, I’ve seen my fair share of special effects make up first hand, and one of my favorite types of effects make up is zombie make up. So I’m going to end this post with photo of me from a “Zombie Prom” that I attended this past semester. I actually had the honor (or should I say horror) of winning “Zombie Prom King” for my make up and costume!
