Just a quick question, with an Archer reference as a title.
On blogger, in the bottom right corner does it have a button that says "Complain to Google"?
I feel as though less people submit responses when it is labeled as complaining rather than the usual "contact". Maybe this is a way that Google lessens their work load?
Just an interesting take on the way that words are used to change people's actions.

Americana: Jack Daniel's and Zombies
I mentioned earlier in class this week about how zombies are American. Not just American but Americana. I believe after George Romero made the originial Night of the living dead, zombies have become a part of American pop culture.
50 years from now our grandchildren will read in the books and say "zombies! Thats so retro!"
I really think ithas become a sensation.
I end this short post with my take.
Zombies are all American; just like bacon cheese burgers, guns, Jack Daniel's and football. Just my opinion.
The end of the semester
The entire week I have tried everything I can to avoid doing all the homework that is piling up at the end of the semester. Yesterday, even though my only class of the day was cancelled, I spent the day doing laundry and giving my dogs baths. And just so you know, my least favorite chore is laundry. I hate laundry. On a side note, my dogs smell wonderful and it needed to be done because the shedding was downright absurd.
Just look how happy and shiny Mr. Clutch is. Oakley does not like taking pictures so I couldn't get one of him while I was writing this post.
Now how can you be in a bad mood with that face staring at you?
I wanted to talk about Laura's "rant" in class today. I understand the plight of writing a political or historical paper, because while I have never failed an English paper (knock on wood) I have come uncomfortable close to failing papers for my history class before. I have never been very good at history, mainly because only certain aspects of history interest me.So let's discuss, either we can start a subthread with pictures of our pets (little humans) or we can discuss your least favorite subject or class that you have had to take at Shepherd. And as a precaution, only discuss the class, not the instructor.
But for good measure, here's a picture from a month ago of Oakley
Obsessed with studying???
Hello everyone! First off, I can't believe we only have a few weeks left! With that being said I am going to miss everyone like crazy, but I'm sure I'll see some of you pretty often (talking to you English Education peeps). I am so excited to start a new semester, and have a new start.
So excited that I have been obsessed with pretty notetaking, study strategies, and organization tips!! Surprisingly it's all over the internet! All I have been doing lately is organizing my time to study for finals, I have never been excited to kick ass at a test, but HERE I COME!
Of course, there are obvious problems with this new hobbie... I just spent almost 70 bucks on new stationary that I really DO NOT need... ugh. I am just waiting for the text from my mom asking why the hell I spent so much at the book store. Sadly, my only answer will be "I have a problem".
Bringing in the "zombie" theme to this post, my new organization/ study obsession has kept me from being the zombie I was in the beginning of the semester. I haven't had sad days in a long while, and I really believe it is because of this class, but also finding things to keep me busy is very important. I have been slacking on this last paper, because it is so far away from writing about myself. I am a little terrified of the grade I will get, and honestly I am terrified of it tearing me up inside. So, if I have seemed kind of "crappy" in class, that's why.
I know Hanrahan will eventually read this, and I want to apologize for my slacking. I feel almost unworthy to major in English, since I have felt lost for really no reason lately. I am overwhelmed by how much talent is in the class, and I just sometimes feel like I am sub-par. My skills are NO WHERE near you guys in the class, you guys are amazing writers. I don't know if it's because I'm short or what but some things(most things) go right over my head.
Anyways, I hope you all have an awesome weekend and a good Easter (even if you are like me and don't practice it)

Out of town.
Currently, I am sitting on the couch next to my 94 year old grandma in New Jersey. I just got here, it was a long drive thank god I wasn't driving. I slept the entire way so I'll probably be up all night. My family lives in New Jersey and I LOVE it here. I know I know, a lot of people joke about jersey. (No, my family isn't spray tanned and trashy) haha but the people here are pretty rude. Actually, very rude. Everyone has an EXTREME case of road rage which makes it frightening driving here. Everyone is in a hurry, nothing like good ole WV. Anyways, I won't be in class tomorrow since I'm out of town but I hope you all have an awesome weekend! But back to my grandma, she's 94 and is about 4'8 and shrinking lol her original height is 4'11 but now she has grown a little hump in her back and shrank quite a bit. Here's a picture of us, now you guys know I'm only 5'2 and when I make someone look short they must be really short. Well, here's my grandma ❤️ she's the cutest and sweetest lady I know.
The niche market of Zombies?
While Dixon, Austin and I were discussing zombies and the various products included in the zombified market, a question popped into my head as to how far the marketing and products have gone. I was especially curious as to how far the zombie trend had spread out after reading the Herman article, "Gun Owners Are Obsessed With Zombies". So, for my own curiosity, and for the entertainment of my classmates, I decided to look up a few different products. Tell me, has anything else (werewolves, vampires, ghosts), gotten this popular marketing wise? I researched vampire products, and there wasn't nearly as much as an overwhelming conglomeration of results for products. I'm curious as to what the next big horror "thing" will be!
So:
First we have the top seller, $130 "Never Sleep Alone" duvet and sleep set. Sweet Dreams I guess?
Then we have: Three ounces of hand-crafted vegan soap $5.75 handmade by Denise Mancuso via Etsy. (I guess you could do vampires or zombies for this gift?)
High quality, hand painted Zombie Garden Gnomes! Ranging from $50-60 bucks.
There's even an entire site dedicated to quacking dead zombie ducks.
http://www.the-quacking-dead.com/
BUT IT DOESN'T STOP THERE!
Here are some really unappetizing zombie food options!
Last but not least, my favorite item on nearly every single one of the zombie-survival guide essentials sites:
LifeStraw water filter
A portable filter that allowsto drink any type of water. This product is just plain, darn, neat.
What do you guys think? Any other products that you guys have seen for zombie survival?

so... class scheduling is coming up
Alright, am I the only one who is pumped for scheduling?? It may just be me and my complete nerdiness, but I love planning!! I am even more excited because I will be taking five English classes! My little writer brain is all kinds of excited, especially when it comes to the kinds of classes I will be taking! Plus, along with planning classes, comes brand new... SCHOOL SUPPLIES (insert squealy voice here). God, I know I am just being lame but who doesn't love the smell of new notebooks, and the excitement of opening up a new pack of pens.
I understand this isn't very zombie related, but I am just way too excited for the next semesters!!!
BTW guys, The Rude Mechanicals will still be performing tonight (Wednesday), Thursday, Friday, and Saturday!!!!
